Outcomes, Inc.

Grandparents who find themselves in a parenting situation the second time around face a unique set of challenges and needs. These needs often include:

  • Navigating social service agencies and the school system
  • Disciplining a grandchild
  • Reducing stress
  • Relationship building
  • Financial and legal problems
  • Childcare needs
  • Social security and Medicare needs
  • Mental health challenges

.

To meet individual family needs, our therapists are available on evenings and weekends. Our goals for the grandparent counseling program are to improve family functioning overall, with grandparents feeling supported and gaining new skills, and/or the grandchildren also gaining support and new skills for emotional and behavioral management.
